This is still an issue. If you open tab while pressing W your player stops. Further presses no longer brings up the tab menu This also disables the esc menu until you tab out then back in |

My fix for this made it worse, so I need to take another look at it. |

Definitely fixed in 0.225.0.93. Had to re-write some of the code for handling tab input. |
