| Description | You'll need to offer users customization of the keyboard control mapping if you want more users to have a non-irritating experience. Lots of players dislike WASD, for starters (I prefer ESDF), and various keyboards clash with either WASD or various other buttons due to being shaped differently. I have Kinesis Advantage keyboard, and I can't hit Space, for example, with left-hand only (right hand on mouse), because the Space is a right-thumb-specific key. I can, though, hold down shift-control-alt (the latter 2 with my left thumb) while still hitting ESDF keys. Anyway, providing customization also means showing the current mapped key when appropriate. |
